Um dos principais ícones da modificação corporal mundial, Erik Sprague aka The Lizardman, lançou o livro “Once More Through the Modified Looking Glass” em Novembro de 2009. Ainda sem tradução para o português, o livro é uma compilação de vários artigos que Erik escreveu entre 2003-2007 para o BMEzine.com e ainda traz artigos novos. Conversamos com o autor e também Frrrk Guy para sabermos um pouco mais sobre o livro. Confira abaixo com exclusividade!

T. Angel: Por quanto tempo você trabalhou neste livro?
Lizardman: Depende. Eu escrevi os artigos de 2003-2007 e, em seguida, no início deste ano (2009), passei cerca de um mês trabalhando coletando e editando eles em conjunto para o livro.

T. Angel: Conte-nos quando e como exatamente você decidiu coletar e publicar num livro artigos escritos originalmente par ao BMEzine?
Lizardman: Eu sempre tinha esperança de que a coluna renderia material suficiente para um livro, isso apenas me tomou um tempo para estar em volta do material e a colocá-los juntos.

T. Angel: Tem algum top artigo favorito?
Lizardman: Acho que minha parte favorita é as perguntas e respostas dos leitores. As pessoas enviaram ótimas questões.

T. Angel: O que você espera com seu livro?
Lizardman: Eu realmente não tenho muito em termos de expectativas, eu só queria reunir tudo e colocar pra fora para as pessoas, especialmente as coisas que não foram publicadas anteriormente.

T. Angel: No Brasil nós temos um problema gigante sobre material (livro, documentário, revista e etc) que fale seriamente sobre modificação corporal e uma outra situação difícil é que frequentemente não há traduções para o português. Você tem planos em traduzir o livro para outros idiomas?
Lizardman: Eu não tenho planos de tradução, mas se alguém quiser traduzir, eu os encorajo para fazerem e se eles deixarem a tradução disponível pra mim, eu vou alegremente repassar adiante as versões traduzidas

T. Angel: Podemos esperar por um próximo livro?
Lizardman: Estou trabalhando em um novo livro, o qual eu espero que não leve muito tempo.

T. Angel: Você é uma das pessoas modificados mais importantes na história da modificação corporal, como você se sente sobre isso?
Lizardman: Eu não sei, eu não penso muito sobre isso. Eu estou fazendo o que eu quero, não tentando ser importante ou mais que alguém.

T. Angel: Deixe alguma palavra para seus fãs brasileiros:
Lizardman: Espero que todos vocês aproveitem o livro.

T. Angel: How long did you work on this book?
Lizardman: That depends, I wrote the articles from 2003-2007 and then earlier this year I spent about a month working on collecting and editing them together into the book.

T. Angel: Tell us when and why exactly you decided to collect and publish into book, articles wrotten originally for BMEzine?
Lizardman: I had always hoped that the column would yield enough material for a book, it just took me awhile to get around to putting it together.

T. Angel: There’s a top favorite article?
Lizardman: I think my favorite part is the questions and answers with the readers, people sent in great questions.

T. Angel: What did you expect with your book?
Lizardman: I really don’t have much in terms of expectations, I just wanted to collect it all together and put it out there for people, especially the stuff that wasn’t published previously.

T. Angel: In Brazil we have a gigantic problem about material (book, documentary, magazine and so far) that talks seriously about body modification and another hard situation is mostly there’s no translations to portuguese. Do you have plans about translate this book for other languages?
Lizardman: I have no plans for translations but if anyone want to translate it, I encourage them to do so and if they make the translation available to me, I will happily put out translated versions.

T. Angel: Can we wait for a next book?
Lizardman: I am working on a new book now, which I hope won’t take me as long.

T. Angel: You are one of the most important modified person in the history of body modification, how do you feel about that?
Lizardman: I don’t know, I don’t really think about it much. I’m just doing what I want not trying to be important or be more than anyone else.
